The King James Bible, also known as the Authorized Version, is one of the most influential and widely read translations of the Bible in the English language. It was commissioned by King James I of England in 1604 and completed in 1611. The translation was undertaken by a team of scholars from the Church of England. The King James Bible consists of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. It includes many well-known stories and teachings, such as the creation story, the Ten Commandments, the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ, and the Apocalypse. The language of the King James Bible is known for its beauty and eloquence, characterized by its use of formal, archaic English. Its language has had a profound impact on English literature and culture, shaping the way many English speakers think and express themselves, even centuries after its publication.
