This is a letter written by Oscar Wilde during his time spent in Reading Gaol, to Lord Alfred Douglas. Wilde had been imprisoned for gross indency after his relationship with Douglas came to the public attention. It did so because Wilde had decided to sue Douglas' father for libel, which inadvertently caused his homosexuality to be put centre stage. In the first half of De Profundis, Wilde talks about his relationship with Douglas and how they lived in extravagance. In the second half, he discusses his spiritual development whilst in jail.
This book has 39 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1897.
Production notes: This ebook of De Profundis was published by Global Grey in 2019.
