Description

The Research Magnificent is a 1915 novel by H. G. Wells. The novel follows the life of William Porphyry Benham, a wealthy Englishman who embarks on a quest to live a life of 'magnificent' ideals. From a young age, Benham is inspired by the idea of living a grand, noble life, free from the constraints of conventional society and materialism. His journey is marked by various adventures, personal struggles, and philosophical reflections as he strives to define and achieve his vision of greatness. Benham's journey takes him across different countries and through a series of relationships and experiences. Throughout the novel, he encounters a range of characters who challenge and influence his ideals. Despite his passionate pursuit, Benham's life is fraught with contradictions and failures, as he grapples with the practicalities and complexities of living up to his lofty aspirations.
