Edited, with an introduction and notes by George Herbert Clarke, the collection is split into countries and aspects of the war (the wounded, women and the war, the fallen, etc). Includes writers such as Rudyard Kipling, John Galsworthy, Arthur Conan Doyle, Edith Wharton, Edgar Lee Masters, G. K. Chesterton, and Thomas Hardy, as well as many by members of the military.
