Description

When the World Shook is a 'lost world' genre book written by H. Rider Haggard, and first published in 1919. It follows the adventures of Bastin, Bickley, and Arbuthnot as they travel to the Pacific Islands. After getting caught in a cyclone, they become shipwrecked and find themselves on an island known as Orofena. They go to a forbidden place on the island, and come across, and revive, an old man (the original Oro) and his daughter. Oro claims they have been unconscious for 250,000 years. With the help of remote viewing, he sees what is happening in other parts of the world, and not being too impressed (WWI is going on), he comes up with a plan to deal with it. Along with this, you have one of the men falling in love with Oro's daughter, and a tragic end when they try to stop Oro's plan.

This book has 256 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1919.
